Antalya has kicked off the tourist season with a celebratory spirit, having welcomed over 2 million visitors in the first four months of the year, and is continuously breaking records with an influx of foreign tourists.
In a recent interview with Salim Uzun from Hürriyet newspaper, Kaan Kavaloğlu, the president of the Mediterranean Association of Touristic Hoteliers and Operators (AKTOB), and Cengiz Haydar Barut, president of the Manavgat Side Association of Touristic Hoteliers (MASTOB) and board member of Barut Hotels, expressed confidence in achieving the ambitious tourism targets for 2024.
According to Kavaloğlu, "The numbers keep improving, and if there are no extraordinary developments, we are likely to exceed our target of 17 million tourists. There's a 20% increase in the German market, and both the British and Polish tourism markets have also seen a 30% increase, which is very encouraging."
Barut added, "We received positive signals about this season as early as March, thanks to exceptionally high early booking numbers. Then we had a series of holidays which created a surge lasting 20-25 days. As long as there are no unforeseen events, we are optimistic about meeting our targets for both Turkey and Antalya. Additionally, we anticipate that per capita spending will reach higher levels compared to previous years."
These optimistic projections reflect the robust health of Antalya's tourism sector and suggest a prosperous season ahead.
