According to a recent survey released by the UK-based price comparison website which.co.uk, Turkish destinations have not made it into the top 10 cheapest package holiday destinations for the summer of 2024. This marks a significant change from previous years, where Turkey frequently appeared among the top-ranking affordable holiday spots.
The study, titled "Cheapest Package Holiday Destinations 2024" by Which? Travel, reveals that the most economical destination is Kalymnos in Greece, with an average cost of 847 pounds. Following closely are Thassos and Lefkada, also in Greece, with prices at 862 pounds and a slightly higher rate, respectively. Spain’s Costa Brava and Venice in Italy also feature prominently on the list.
In contrast, the ranking for "Cheapest All-Inclusive Holiday Destinations" of 2024 does see Turkey making an appearance, with Dalaman listed fifth at a cost of 1125 pounds. Tenerife in Spain tops this list at 1097 pounds, followed by Costa Blanca, Spain, and Burgas, Bulgaria, highlighting a variety of options for budget-conscious travelers within Europe.
This divergence in ranking emphasizes the competitive nature of the travel industry and the fluctuating costs of destinations, affecting their appeal to tourists looking for budget-friendly vacations.
